The Massive Update that is My Life.

HELLO! *pats heads of readers fondly*
I've missed each and every one of you whole-heartedly but I'll admit that I've been particularly lazy with my blogging recently. As much as I want to say it's because of work, etc, etc, I'll own up to it and tell you that, no, I'm just avoiding making amusing posts because I can't be bothered. HOWEVER, just so you know right now, in two days time, I am actually starting school again, so there WILL be a reason as to why there are either more or less blogs (that depends on my procrastination level).

I feel it necessary to tell anybody who'll listen that the first day of school and I have a bit of a bitter sweet, rocky relationship. This has spanned over many years, but it's kind of properly hit home this year due to the unnerving fact that I start a day later than everybody else because I'm in Grade 11, and therefore my grades need to be tip-top by the end of this year if I want to get into a good rank for each of my classes in Grade 12 (this is all Australian education system, and I suggest that if you know what's best for you, you don't ask any questions because I could begin to ramble). Also, because I'm a huge idiot, I decided it best that I do all the 'hard' subjects for the next two years. This involves Geography (which I've never done), Modern History, Maths B (or harder maths, whichever you prefer knowing it as), English, Biology and Music. The 'hard' subjects are Modern History, Geography and Maths B. So, you know, FUN.

ALSO, I've not totally given up on my NaNoWriMo novel, but I really need a break from it (so, I'm taking a break, obviously). Before you say anything else, yes, I have indeed not been at all imaginative with the NaNoWriMo novel's title due to my lack of creative energy flown towards that department. However, I did start another book, though my being a perfectionist makes it hard for me to start because I'm frustrating myself with how to begin, etc (which, I feel you should know, I do very well for someone of the ripe, old age of 15). It's a contemporary drama, titled 'Georgie & Olive' (and before you type a comment asking if one of my friends thought that up because it's horrible/brilliant, no I did. 'Tis very creative, I KNOW *sarcasm). But since that isn't going anywhere at present, I've decided to try out another idea of mine (hence, the reason I'm starting a new paragraph, because not only is that correct grammar, but also, this paragraph is starting to become far too long for my liking).

Thus far, I have a vague plot which involves parallel universes, wars and all that jazz that goes along with it. So I suppose it could be classified as a Supernatural/Fantasy thriller? *shrugs* It doesn't really bother me at the moment because I'm just seeing where it goes (which is lacking all that I did for the planning for 'Georgie & Olive'). I'll show you a little excerpt now, because I feel like it.

So what do you think? It sounds kind of depressive at the moment, but I've started to realise that most of my writing projects are naturally like that at the start (which, you know, is kinda sad, but still). Also, if you'd like to help in any way, feel free to suggest names (whether that be character names or made up names for countries, planets, etc) and TITLES (because, as we all know, titles are Jocie's nemesis). I've gotta go ask my writing buddy now her opinion on this project thus far (and before you say anything else, yes that's all I've written, and no, even if you do want to read more, you can't because, a) as aforementioned, I haven't written anymore and b) I don't feel like showing/telling you anymore (despite how mean that sounds, I mean it in the nicest way possible)

ALSO, on the topic of books, I maybe, possibly, did splurge some money on some books (which I haven't recorded because, remember, I'm the lazy person). I have a picture though, so here ya go!

Now, I can't remember if I posted a blog before Christmas wishing you a merry Christmas and I realise that even if I hadn't it would be far too late for me to say it now, but I still hope you all had amazing/wonderful/brilliant/awesome/magnificent/glorious Christmas' and New Years'. I will try to post more often, honest.  :)

Hi...

Hello all. You're probably wondering where I've been these past weeks. It's easy to say that my Summer holidays, however much I enjoy them, have been packed to the brim with work, family bonding trips, rain and nothingness. I'm sorry, therefore, for my lack of book reviewing and just general bloginess.

The reason, if you are just so wondering, why I haven't done any book reviews thus far in the new year of 2011, is because a) I was at my dads for the past week and b) I'm actually been reading The Chronicles of Narnia (which I'm obsessed with and has therefore joined my obsession list along with: Harry Potter, anything Cassandra Clare related, London and chocolate (among a large amount of other things but I'll just leave you those).

So... It's 2011. This scares me because I just realised I'm turning 16 this year. It makes me feel old. When I told my mum this she laughed at me and said it was 8 months away. Needless to say I still feel really old. It also means that I'm starting Grade 11, which is beyond nerve-wracking, due to my perfectionist tendencies in which I feel it necessary to get all of my assignments brilliant. So, NO PRESSURE.

Also, last night (as it was late night shopping) I did perhaps buy two book. But I have good reasoning, seriously. In total, the two books together cost $11, and with my discount, it was only about $7.50. The books I bought were 'Evernight' by Claudia Gray, which was $5 (I'm hoping to take this as a good thing) and Alpha Beta by John Man which nobody except myself seems the slightest bit interested in. It's about how the Western alphabet was formed. It's history (and perhaps a little bit of linguistics?) if you want generalism.

So, new years, yes? I'm sure all you beloved readers out there have created new New Years Resolutions and begun your quest. Have I? No. Why? Because I find the idea of starting a new year meaning you can actually do something and keep it that way a little bit pathetic. I don't mean to offend! It's just. Well. I feel that if people think that they are capable of doing something, they should do and shouldn't need a deadline to 'complete'. Maybe I'm just being slightly cynical, but I've never met anybody who has kept their New Years Resolution. The ones I had last year were to eat healthier (that didn't happen when the endless supply of chocolate approached the house), get straight A's on my report card (I got 4 A's & 2 B's in my last one) and there was something else but I can't remember it. *Shrugs* Oh well.

Also, I think you should see The King's Speech. It's brilliant.

p.s.s. I had another idea for a book and am thinking I may begin planning it but am not too sure. My other book isn't getting anywhere, so I think it may just help me a little. It may be a little confronting though, so I'm not particularly sure.

Glee + Rain = Pure Bliss.

So, I'm officially on a roll with the writing thing. I have it down pat. I ponder everyday (aka I write everyday) for about an hour. Once school starts back though, I shall, of course, devote most of my time to my studies, and once I'm done, only then shall I write. Remember, I'm a dork, these things are expected.

I didn't have a very big day. I went to the library and borrow books out, because, of course, I'm banned from buying books. I then made a video about it (which is inserted below)

Night Owl.

This blog has come a lot later than a majority of my blogs have been recently. I have a very good reason for this though - I was working for a majority of the day.
  I work at a bookstore (if you didn't know this) and it's really hard not to buy things there ALL THE TIME. I was working for 7 hours (not kidding), 7 & 1/2 including my lunch break.

I also had to say goodbye to some of my family who were going back to their home up North. We are honestly like the Brady Bunch, this family of mine. We all love each other, and we are huge. Don't believe me? My mum has four sisters and they have all pro-created (I realise how bad this sounds, so sorry in advance). I have 15 cousins on my mum's side of the family. Imagine how that is at Christmas!

I spent the morning doing nothing except read and drink extensive amounts of tea - I do need my energy for a seven hour shift. This day is pretty boring, even by my standards.

Am still enchanted by Clockwork Angel and, dare I say, I may have even begun to favour it more than the Mortal Instruments. I bet though, that it's because I'm weird and live in this fantasy world where the 19th century is the best century EVER. Which it is. Like my blog name suggests, I have extreme fanciful notions and plan to eventually prove to my friends as to why the 19th century is the era of romance and such.

I've started making a list of the books I have to get from the library (because my mother has forbidden me from buying any more books *makes a sad face*):
